• Why Do Cows Have 2 Ear Tags?

It is a Cow ID Number as like Identification ID Card. Every cow have a unique ID number to identification and tracking and facilitate management and breeding.

• How Do You Number A Cow?

1. General speaking, the commonly ID number should according to the year of birth and the order of birth within the year. For Example, this cow is the first 1001 (depending on the size of the cattle farm), the born is 2021, January 1st. Remark can start from 100120210101.
Off course, it is mainly for large farms.

2. And a simple RFID Ear Tag number is generally four or six digits.
When the number is four digits, it only reflects the year of birth and the order of birth during the year. For example, 0156 is born in 2001 and the number 56 in the order of the cows meaning,

3. When the number is six digits, it can reflect the year of birth, month of birth and the order of birth during the year. For example, 010856 means the 56th number of cows born in August 2001 in the order of the whole cow.

However, actually in production, due to the different birthplaces of the cattle and the different breeds that may be raised on the same cattle farm, especially in recent years, dairy cattle trading has become more frequent.
To ensure uniqueness, the numbering can learn from the numbering method of the ID card, that is, the province, cattle field, birth year, and birth order within the year are arranged together. This kind of arrangement generally uses a ten-digit number (when marking permits). The specific numbering method is the province number (2 digits) + the cattle farm number in the province and city (3 digits) + the annual number (2 digits) + the birth order of the cattle during the year (3 digits).
There is no uniform regulation on cattle numbering in our country. The habits of each cattle farm are different. However, the numbering must be scientific and practical, and the numbering method cannot be changed frequently. Marking the cow's number on the cow's body is the numbering. There are many ways to mark numbers. Commonly used methods are ear tag, ink stab, branding, ear trimming, and frozen marking.  Either method requires easy operation, durability, low cost and easy identification.

• How To Make Plastic Ear Tags？
